ABOUT TVER----
Tver, long known as “The City of Beautiful Women”, is located about a hundred miles northwest of Moscow, on the famous Volga River. It has a climate identical to Southern Michigan and Northern Ohio, but without the storms. With a population of a half million, it is a university town with a major textile manufacturing sector.
Tver is an ancient city, with delightful architecture, many fine restaurants, a dozen sports stadiums, a race track, museums, theaters, concert halls, gambling casinos, night clubs, and just about anything you could possibly want. (You can hire a bath girl at one local sauna.)
Prices are remarkably low in Tver. A beautiful, furnished apartment can be had for $70.(US) per week, including phone, maid service, and utilities. Food prices range from $2. for half a broiled chicken to a sumptuous feast of Suckling Pig (with Champaign and Caviar) for less than $10. per person. A proper tip is 5%.
Transportation is inexpensive here. A Taxi can get you anywhere in town for a dollar, and tipping is not expected. Busses, streetcars, and so on are much cheaper.

Business opportunities abound in Tver, largely because of the low labor rates. 2000 rubles a month ($69. US) is considered excellent pay for a factory worker. The work force is well educated, with many computer specialists in particular looking for work. If you treat Russian workers decently, they will give you their outstanding loyalty in return. Many local organizations are months behind in their payrolls, but their workers stay diligently on the job. Imagine that happening in the West, if you can!
